According to traditional chinese medicine, disease occurs when there is insufficient supply of energy in a particular organ or area of our body. The moxa and cupping are two techniques with which we can regain the energy we need: in particular, the moxa uses heat to activate the acupuncture points, while cupping uses suction applied to the zones of stagnation of energy. The book combines theory and practice, is accompanied by numerous pictures and accurate descriptions of the various operations.
After a part devoted to the basics of traditional chinese medicine and the theory of Yin and Yang, the book is illustrated with precise photographs of the protocols practical for the most common symptoms, with a description and location of the critical points and explanation of the type of intervention, both in the context of the moxa, or in the one of the cupping (a technique, the latter, on which, in Italy, there is very little literature).
The book is aimed both at those who already practice Shiatsu and/or Tui-na massage is simply for the curious who want to find relief for minor ailments that have afflicted them.
